The Guild of Merchants, Limited (GML) was founded by Aityhrein E'Dora and Golmina Gemcutter and established by Aityhrein E'Dora, Akura Glodsson, and Golmina Gemcutter. It is an organization wholly dedicated to the mercantile needs of the general populace of Thera and is a non-aggressive collective. The GML is sponsored by Our Patron Lord Abasdarhon and Our Patron Lord Aityhrein. The GML does not discriminate according to race, sex, religion, or creed. The only exception to this is that the GML does not accept those of an impulsive nature or any member of the thieves' guild. Golmina approached Aityhrein to join her in creating one group that would tie together the many individual merchants throughout the lands. For individually they saw that merchants were being ill treated, attacked by would-be customers, cheated of their fair share, and most importantly, they saw that aspiring merchants were throwing away their dreams of mercantilism for they did not have a group to turn to. The fame of the duo quickly spread and word of their honesty, resourcefulness, and good business sense reached the ears of the Patron of Mercantilism, Destiny, and Fortune, Lord Abasdarhon. The two placed a business proposal at the doorstep of the Lord Abasdarhon stating that they wished to consolidate their power base and needed a backer. The Lord Abasdarhon gave his blessing and at that moment the GML was born. The two recruited the aid of Akura, the dwarf enchanter, to give them more depth to their group. The GML operates out of the GML Exchange, which is in the city of Rockfist, located below the mines of Moria. The Exchange itself stands on 1 Market Street and is accessible to the general public for a small fee which can be paid to the keystone at the gates. Inside the Exchange is the GML offices, store, and training rooms. Use of the store and training rooms can only be granted after buying a pass or card from Rozalia, the secretary inside the Exchange. The store has currently quite a large selection of ingredients that an alchemist might need in their work and will soon carry more goods. The store has a banker conveniently placed so as to minimize the hassle of carrying around large amounts of money. The training room is warded and has an armed training dummy with shield so a Theran can practice almost any spell or skill within. The GML is headed by a CEO (Chief Executive Officer,
leader) who oversees the daily running of the organization. There are
three divisions in the GML: Alchemy, Trade, and Humanoid Resources and
Development. Each division is headed by a Division leader, who has authority
over all in their division. One should purchase and peruse The Book
of the Guild of Merchants, Limited The GML continues on its mercantile ways, expanding and recruiting the best alchemists and traders of the land. If you think you have what it takes to be a true merchant who is a team player, please contact your nearest GML merchant and buy a GML rule book from the Exchange for more information. | ||||
