Sigler Frostmug, the Holy Cow

Areas of Influence: Jubilation, Excess, Euphoria
Symbol: A Mug of Mead
Alignment: Neutral
Race: Minotaur

Sigler was born into the royal family of a moderately wealthy minotaur kingdom far westward of Thera's common boundaries. Life amidst the royal court wore heavily on him. The false personalities and ridiculous manners everyone saw fit to hold themselves to. All he wished was to do as he wanted without the burden of being responsible for others. Eventually, he brought his concerns to his father, the king of the minotaur lands. Aware that forcing his son to take a place as successor would only lead to ruin, he reluctantly allowed Sigler to
follow his own path. With a healthy chunk of gold as an allowance and two friends at his side, Sigler set out into the wilds.

The trio traveled about for several years doing whatever piqued their collective interests on a given day. They explored, fought and drank (mostly drank) to their hearts' content, living life to the fullest of their abilities. Before long they came to learn of the four cities of Ethshar, Elvenhame, Glyndane and New Thalos. Deciding that there was as good a place as any to find amusement, the friends set out. Upon arrival in Glyndane, Sigler purchased a modest house on the outskirts of the city and the three lit out to partake in what the area had to offer. One fact became glaringly clear to the three; this corner of the world had little to offer in fine alcohol. A plan was devised amongst the group and put
into motion the next day; they would open their own pub.

Through many hours of imbibing various delicious beverages, Sigler's tolerance became finely honed. He no longer became sloppy drunk from the gallons of liquor he consumed, but entered a dreamy trance-like state. What he would learn much later is that it was not a trance at all, but his consciousness separating itself from the physical body. In this condition, Sigler's mind could travel to different realms far detached from Thera itself. He witnessed wonders completely foreign to Theran lands: carriages even the gnomes couldn't fathom, crystal towers reaching far above the clouds...but someone had noticed Sigler's travels and took great interest in his abilities.

An extremely powerful being named simply "The Dark" had sensed Sigler's passing through its own realm. The Dark had terrorized various planes of existence and laid waste to countless lives. The only thing crippling its abilities was that its vision was limited to the current dimension it resided in. Moving from cosmos to cosmos was a heavy gamble for the beast and Sigler's abilities would all but make The Dark unstoppable in its domination. The being traced Sigler's path back to Thera and set its sights on enslaving the mortal. Fortunately, there exists a number of individuals far stronger than The Dark, Riallus Windgust being one of them. Lord Riallus had also detected Sigler's unusual abilities and had been watching him for some time. Riallus was faced with a dilemma. He could fight off the beast when it arrived to Thera, but the potential for irreparable damage to the realm was high. He could end Sigler's existence but he loathed eradicating a mortal for a situation he wasn't consciously aware of. Thus, in his wisdom, Riallus came to a compromise. Sigler held power potential that would serve Thera's pantheon well and granting him immortality would tie his essence to the realm itself. Attempting to en- slave Sigler at that point would prove near impossible for the beast. The great lord approached Sigler and apprised him of the situation. Sigler could be destroyed or take a position amongst the Heavens and be burdened with the heavy responsibilities he had evaded for so long. Reluctantly, Sigler took his place with the stars, but vowed to teach the mortals of the true blessing of life they hold.
