It is said the ancient wanders of the (what are now) Sands of Sorrow summoned a great demon one day in the hopes that he would serve the people of the Sands, and become a slave to do their work. Sadly, they were to regret their summons of that time. The priest of the Pharaoh Thaloc unwittingly unleashed Nebhotep, Serpent of Evil, Scourge of Light upon the lands. He quickly subjugated the kingdom and enslaved all it's citizens. It wasn't until Thaloc achieved a demigod status, and along with the blessings of Adorno, was able to banish the monster from the lands. For many years, the creature lay in wait, festering in evil and anger, waiting for his chance to once again join the world of mortals, and this time, reign supreme eternally. Centuries later, tomb raiders unwittingly unearthed the resting place of the Dark One. Surging forth with vengeance, Nebhotep reintroduced his presence to the world, and once again, working with the blackest and most evil powers, attempted to take over the Sands of Sorrow, and the citizens of New Thalos. He failed in his attempt, and slithered back under the Sands of Sorrow, and hence has not been heard of since. Nebhotep believes that all creatures weaker than him are useless and ultimately expendable. He is consistently cruel and unerringly nasty all the time, for no other reason than he can be. Followers of Nebhotep are masochists at heart, for the Dark Snake hates even those that worship him, and spares no expense in making them feel their weakness in comparison. ![]() Ideology Rules of Worship Holy Days |
