Jord Roshnak was born unto the hatred of magic and lived solely with his small clan of fellow giants. He traveled into the cities of Thera to search for allies in the war against magic and he found them in the Crusaders of Valor. He trained under great men and with an unending ally and best friend named Restin. A long time he spent with the Crusaders, learning more and more about the evils of the taint of magic, seeing Arcana fall beneath the grip of Crusader, perfecting the art of battle with the quarterstaff and earning many glorious titles in the process. He had the honor of earning Lord Darkwood's brand and fighting the war against forsaken, climbing up the ranks in the house, becoming warlord, and leading Crusader into many glorious battles.

One day, Jord realized that his life, as good as it was, was only what people thought that it should be. Most people viewed Jord and his race as ignorant animals who could not do anything but fight with their muscles. Living his life solely as a warrior fed these ignorant views of the people, and he swore he would change that. Jord journeyed on a personal quest for enlightenment and what he now calls transcendence. He had perfected his body for most of his life, and he would now spend the rest of his life trying to perfect his mind. He had gnomish inventors make spectacles that would enable him to read more clearly, he always had a book by his side. Of course, it was not an easy process, nor would it be a short process. He was granted a longer life by his Lord so he was able to continue his quest. After many years, he decided to share his knowledge among the people, but many rejected his teachings and they continued to believe that Jord's people were beneath them. Jord spread his knowledge to others of his kind, urging them to seek transcendence as well. Even some of them did not believe they were able to do more than fight, or they thought it was too hard to train the mind. During his quest though, he never faltered to fight for the Crusades nor did he ever relinquish his worship for his Lord.

After a long life, Jord Roshnak died as all mortals do. His spirit was in great turmoil, for his teachings as a mortal fell on deaf ears and the ignorance of many continued to belittle his allies and friends. The immortals of Thera saw Jord's turmoil and found him worthy to continue his work from the heavens.

Jord's journey for transcendence finally was accomplished as a mortal, but as an immortal, it has just begun. His journey has become two separate parts; to continue to grow as an immortal and to help the mortals of Thera find the path that he had traversed throughout his entire life.
