In the year 92, a mystical half-eagle, half-lion delicately carried the
progeny of its race to common lands of Thera, before plummeting to the sea
from a large amount of sustained injuries. With it, a scroll telling of
the persecution from races never before heard of. Griffons, as they are
known, are beasts of the air, evolved to walk the lands, with a culture
berthed in close family ties, giving aid to those around them.
Their unique, friendly nature brought them both welcome and disdain from
the commoners of Thera. Driven by instinct and intellect, the griffons
sought to make a better life for themselves, providing sanctuary to their
kind against the dangers in Thera. Their huge, bold bodies make them
formidable fighters, but the wisdom of the upbringing allows them to follow
the pursuits of the Weave or of the faith with unmatched fervor. Their
strong instinctual nature make the steadfast, feathered beasts difficult to
persuade.
Their bodies are covered in both feathers and thick fur, allowing them to
ward off the brutally cold winters of Thera. They do seem to avoid the
flame as much as possible, as the scroll revealed the brutal torture of
fire among their kind.
