The Stronghold - An exhausted Justicar Magus

After our unceremonious eviction from our very long standing home on the southern continent, Lord Kaleb did look upon Thera for a new place to call our own. One day, while the eviction notice was still freshly posted on the stronghold door and Lord Kaleb was considering where to move, a woman's prayer caught his ear. She was not a worshipper of Duality. But she had prayed to nearly every Deity in the pantheon for aide and had all but lost hope. For you see, her village was in ruin. Poverty was rampant and the children and their parents were starving. The woods of Haon Dor and the Shadow Grove sought to choke them out of existence and destroy what little they had left.

Both feeling pity and seeing an opportunity, Lord Kaleb came down to the woman. He cradled her in his embrace while he spoke to her of relief from her pain. He said, this would not be a relief borne out of simple divine generosity but out of a new sense of purpose for her and her people. In exchange for the money and resources to accomplish the task for while Lord Kaleb was about to give her and her people, the people of her village would work feverishly and diligently to build themselves a new life and build a new Stronghold for the Justicars. The woman, wanted so much to say yes, but had to consult with the village elders. After a brief discussion, the village gladly accepted this offer and set about to work. Worried that their efforts would be found out and that they might be killed for their alliance with the Stronghold, Lord Kaleb agreed to employ concealing magics to ensure that none would know that anything was happening.

For my part, I was one of the many Justicar magi to set about concealing this monumental project from being seen by anyone. And it was a success. Realizing that it could not be maintained forever, Lord Kaleb set about certain requirements for completion of the project before it could be revealed. Those requirements have been met. The Stronghold is complete. Roads leading west have been begun and a new city has begun being built for the villagers who are now protected by the laws of Thera. And so, we mages have been put to rest. By tomorrow's realignment our concealing magics will have dissipated and the truth shall be revealed.

The Lord Kaleb has asked me to convey this and also that as of this moment, Daltigoth is, regrettably, no longer protected by the laws of Justicar. By that same token, the new city of Sudharma is now considered a protected area under the laws as any other city. Any publicized versions of the laws or Compendium that still refer to Daltigoth and/or fail to mention Sudharma should be corrected soon. Know that the lack of publication does not offer grounds for appeal.

Darphinius, Master Illusionist of the Justicar Magi
by direction of Lord Kaleb

Please congratulate and welcome our newest Immortal: Istrovir!

The character of Barius, who was an IT for awhile, has been accepted into the Immortal ranks, and has chosen to take the form of an old incarnation.

Please join me in welcoming him to the Pantheon. We look forward to his efforts.

<< It's Not Over 'Til It's Over -- And It Isn't Over >> - Theran Observer

As the realms turned to watch a Theran battle match a few moons
ago, Seab Stone's lack of presence changed the aftermath. Heroes
clamored for bloodshed to ensue or to take the absent foe's place.
In the arena grounds a victor arose from the grand skirmish,
Duritz Claypool, the Leader of the Keep.

All the while whispers abound underground that Seab's no-show
was to avoid a likely defeat in the tourney. There were also claims
of an insidious plan resulting in the slaying of an innocent citizen.
Rumour has it that a sordid deception had been committed by
the Syndicate Godfather to ensure a favourable outcome for the
High Arbiter as the two were in cahoots together. The latter
allegation was thwarted by the Heavens as part of mundane
chaos that constantly transpires in the realms.

Now, we all wonder who shall finally lay claim to defeat?
We shall find out in four celestial moons!

So come one, come all to see Duritz Claypool face the defending
fighter from the last melee, Drehse Vs'Intey, for the title of
Theran Battle Champion!
