Frequently Asked Questions
I play on a network with a couple of friends, will we be in trouble?
So long as we see that you do all your communication in game and don’t do anything suspicious regarding equipment transfers, it’s fine. Any “telepathic” looking actions where it appears your characters work with each other without saying a word will be dealt with by an immortal.

Help! I’m stuck in a place I can’t get out of!
First of all, try moving in all six directions (North, South, East, West, Up, Down) and see if you bump into a door. If no, then you should try asking another player for help. Most places can be gotten out of by yourself, others can be gotten out of by asking for help. If you are notified that the place you are stuck in is requires immortal assistance to get out of, then you may pray for immortal assistance.

How come no one answers my prayers?
Immortals are very busy and often will be dealing with several things at once. Please be patient and do not spam a prayer or quit out seconds after praying.

How do I pray to a certain immortal?
You can include their name in the prayer, but all immortals see all prayers. There’s no “private” prayer channel.

I’m in the Realm of the Dead. Where am I?
You are in an immortal holding cell. It could mean you’re either in trouble or you are required to do something by the Immortals.

I’m in the Realm of the Hoarders, where am I?
Characters are required to be in game for a certain amount of hours within a 30 day period. If you logged in two seconds a day for thirty days, it likely is not enough. Neither is showing up for twenty four hours in a row for one day only. It is not calculated by calendar months, but by a system count. If you are within the Realm of the Hoarders you will be purged of your limited equipment before being allowed to return to the game.

Do I lose experience points for dying?
No. However you will accrue a penalty towards your next level that keeps adding up for each death to an NPC, requiring more experience to level up to the next level. Getting PKed does not give this penalty.

How come my armor class is negative?
Negative is good. The lower the number (larger negative), the better. If you have a positive armor class, you’ll take quite a bit of damage and get hit very often.

Is botting allowed while training skills?
So long as you respond within a couple of minutes if an immortal contacts you, you’re fine. You are forbidden to bot while you go to sleep or work or basically are not at the computer.

What are saves?
Saves help prevent certain negative magical effects. The lower the number, the better.

What’s the difference between normal saves and the others?
Normal saves protect against everything the others do but not very well. Breath, Maledictions, Transport, and Spell saves protect very well against the things that affect them only. Breath protects against breath weapon type attacks. Maledictions protects against all harmful spells such as poison and plague. Transport protects against being summoned or gated to. Spell saves protects against the damage from spells. Saves also protect against other things too numerous to mention

How do I form a clan?
You will have to find the NPC that makes clans and pay it to form your clan. Be aware that clans without much story and/or are completely PK oriented are heavily frowned upon.

Do clans get powers?
No. Refer to HELP CLAN to see what clans get.

How do I make a house?
You cannot make a house.

After level 51, do I become an immortal?
No. Immortals are administrators hand picked to work on Dark Mists and immortality cannot be attained in any way other than being “hired”.
