Someone not Ancient tried to... Well I won't go into detail to not spoil it, but those who know it, will understand.
Anyway, Kregu started to sell an infinite supply of bracers, earrings, patches.
The Merchant's Lair
This small alcove houses several wooden shelves filled with random
items. The reddish-brown limestone walls connect with the cleft
passage northwards. The sediment accumulated on the floor of this
chamber is littered with fossilized bat droppings and animal remains.
The ceiling lined with needle-like crystals sags slightly due to the
stress caused by the downward incline of the entire cavern, making
this alcove a precarious spot for those who linger.
An agitated thrall merchant stands behind a small cabinet.

The bracers, earrings and the eye patch have unlimited quantity here along with other wares which Kregu sells regularly. I managed to steal the equipment which had a quantity. It said that I couldn't pry them away when I tried the bracers and such. Also the alchemies on those pieces were gone.

The same things happens in the Ethshar guilds when you drop a bottle of beer and they pick it up. Perhaps this is what happened here - it was dropped and they picked it up. Just a thought.

That's because they're all marked with the sell_extract flag, which automatically replaces the item in the inventory of a shopkeeper. Shopkeeper inventories don't really vary between "sale items" and "personal items", so when shoppies get sell_extract items they keep on selling them. At least, that's my interpretation of things.

Ash is right, but I think the esthar bartenders where fixed to stop selling alot of stuff they picked up. Because monks would drop white wands on purpose so the bartender would pick it up and sell it, which was great fun having an easy supply of white wands in your guild, but i think exactly what they pick up now and sell was changed.
